Madame Dee is not your typical singer.

Aside from the fact that her voice could enthrall you by singing her grocery list, Madame Dee in concert rarely performs her songs in any typical way.

There was absolutely nothing typical about her performance Sunday as headliner for the Soulful sunday at the Cork and Thorn.

Few performers are more qualified to conduct a medley of some of the greatest female singers of all times than Madame Dee.  When the vocalist intentionally sings a song recorded by some of R&B greats, she makes the song hers.  At the conclusion of an electrifying version of “Areatha Franklin tribute song Respect to Shaka Klan I'm Every woman”  the songs seen to take a voice of their own as the Madame presented her own unique interpretation of each note.

The audience witnessed Madame Dee pour everything she had into the soul standards at the Cork And Thorn in Las Vegas recently.  Seemingly overcome by emotions, Don't make no mistake about it, she even sings one of Patti La belle tunes and closing out with Billie Holiday's At last!

Her 90-minute concerts was filled with similarly ostentatious flourishes and correspondingly grandiose vocals.  For many who have only heard of Madame Dee, she is truly an inspiration to us all, she sings because its truly what she love to do!  While Madame Dee’s impressive range is intact, her stamina unparalleled. She allowed three special guest singers to do several selections, saving her strength for splashy vocal runs. She also gives her  musicians plenty of room to stretch out, an welcome development for an artist with decades of essential material that she performers.   Madame Dee’s sings fresh songs that were already perfect, they are all hits and she knock them out of the park again and a again!  Madame Dee's beauty, energy and excitement almost absorbing as her music.  She is truly a pro and a show you don't want to miss!
